Tandem Massage

If you like a two handed massage, you'll love a tandem massage (four-handed massage)! Enjoy the luxury of having two therapists provide you a massage in tandem.

In a tandem massage, there are two basic types of work that are blended together to create the session.

The first, called “mirror massage” first originated in India hundreds of years ago and is one in which both therapists are working in exact unison with one another, stoke by stroke. It is the type that usually springs to mind when one thinks of tandem massage and it brings balance to both body, mind, and Spirit.

The second, “asynchronous massage" is where the two therapists work in a complementary way but are not exact mirror opposites; for example one therapist may be at the head of the table relaxing the neck while the other therapist works at the foot of the table working on reflex points on the feet.

Our tandem massage is a seamless dance of both mirror and asynchronous work that incorporates a variety of massage modalities such as stretching, reflexology, rocking, and long flowing Esalen Swedish massage strokes.

IMPORTANT NOTES: Tandem massages cannot be booked through my automated online scheduling system. To schedule a tandem massage, please contact me with the following information:
1) Your desired therapist combination.
2) Your desired appointment day and time. To facilitate a quick response, it would be beneficial to provide several day/time options that you are available to help coordinate schedules. Also, we must have at least 2 days notice for scheduling a tandem massages.
